I have been fortunate to visit Gir National Park & Lion Sanctuary on e occasions, first in November 2008 which was the annual get-together of members of Indianaturewatch.com and more recently in May 2012 which was a camp organised by Bombay Natural History Society(BNHS). the visits were during different seasons so you get to see Gir in different colours. My most recent visit was from June 7-9, 2024 with Rural Pleasures, Gir has undergone tremendous transformation since the last 12 years
The interesting drive gave many insights into life amongst the rural dwellers as well as glimpses of Hingolgadh and Junagadh. worth savouring before venturing into the wild.
